Chess

Congratulations Hastings Middle School student, Benjamin Kuehn who placed 2nd in the 7th/8th Grade division during the annual ESU 9 Chess Tournament on April 1. Benjamin’s name was inadvertently missed during last month’s good news.

Sertoma Essay Winners

Longfellow student Reggie K. won the contest for the Sertoma Essay. Cameron C. and Nora S. received honorable mention. Congratulations to these Longfellow Leopards!

Artistic Director and Principal Conductor

Longfellow Music Teacher, Mr. Erin Beave, was named the Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Kearney Symphony Orchestra. Congratulations on this achievement.

Lincoln Lions Leadership Fundraiser

Lincoln Lion’s Leadership raised $606.00 that was divided equally and donated to Crossroads and Royal Family Kids. The students voted on donating to these two organizations because they knew that some of their fellow students have received services from the organizations.

Sports Honors

Congratulations to Hastings High Girls Tennis Team Runner-up in the Eastern Midlands Conference Tournament. The doubles teams of Ruby Schardt/Bianca Truong and Kylie Ansbach/Sophia Jarmer won their brackets.

Congratulations to Hastings High Tigers Baseball on winning the Class B-3 District Championship. HHS Tigers Baseball is going to State!

The Hastings High Tigers Boys Soccer won the Class B-2 District Championship. Congratulations the HHS Tigers Boys Soccer going to State!

Fine Arts

Congratulations to all of the talented students who had their artwork featured at the District Art Show! Student artwork from 1st through 12th grades was on display April 24 to May 6 at the District Office.

Congratulations to the Hastings High School Jazz Combo for their performance at the Central Nebraska Jazz Festival held at the University of Nebraska.

Gifts

The Hastings Middle School Library received $1,500.00 from the Books from Feek Grant in honor of Brad Feeken, a Hastings alum.
