Nebraska Women’s Athletic Leadership Alliances Award of Excellence

HPS Athletic trainer Ashley Conrad received the Nebraska Women’s Athletic Leadership Alliances Award of Excellence for the 2024 2025 school year. Congratulations Ashley!

MUSIC

NMEA Middle Level All-State Orchestra

The Hastings Middle School Orchestra had two students selected outright and a third chosen as an alternate to the NMEA Middle Level All-State Orchestra for 2025! Congratulations Cadence K, violin (7th grade); Emry B, bass (8th grade); and Evelyn S, cello alternate (7th grade).

Academics

Apply2College Day

Thanks to funding from the EducationQuest College Access Grant, Hastings High School hosted a successful Apply2College Day on October 7th. More than 80 HHS seniors participated, applying to at least one college. In addition to the high school counselors, representatives from UNK, UNO, UNL, CCC, Hastings College, Wayne State, Creighton, and EducationQuest were on hand to help students through the application process.
Hastings High is currently in the second year of a four-year award through the College Access grant – a competitive program that provides funding to Nebraska high schools to promote activities including college visits, financial aid workshops, and other initiatives designed to increase college enrollment. Congratulations seniors and counselors!

Sports

Softball

Congratulations to the HHS Girls Softball Team on qualifying for the Class B State Tournament!

Cross Country

HHS Cross Country runner, Sophia Reynolds won the EMC Girls’ Championship and the District Championship race. Congratulations Sophia!

The HHS Girls Cross Country team placed 3rd at Districts! Sophia Reynolds, Josephine Gowen, Mylee Mick, Eva Magallanes, Darcy Davis, and Merari Lastor qualified for State!

The HHS Boys Cross Country team finished 6th at Districts and Beckett Hoshaw qualified for State.

Congratulations to the Cross Country teams. 

Golf

HHS Girls Golfer, freshman Kate Krueger qualified for the Class B Girls State Golf Tournament, she finished 20th. Congratulations Kate!

Tennis

Congratulations HHS Boys Tennis Team members Brohdy Mackey, Griffin Baack, Zachary Schram, Andrew Peeler, Khris Matul Rosales, and Issac Russell qualified for the Class B Boys State Tennis Championships. Congratulations!
