January 2025 Minutes and Good News

Good News!

Congratulations to Hastings High swimmer Abbey Fish

Abbey broke the school record in the 500m Freestyle event during the Kearney invite. Her time of 5:21.04 broke the previous record of 5:23.55 set by Morgan Baker in 2017.

Congratulations to the Hastings High School Staff on the progress made with attendance.

Daily Average Attendance Rate: Hastings High’s daily attendance for the fall semester of 2024 stands at an impressive 89.65%. At this time last year, we
were at 85.86%, which means we’ve achieved a 3.79% increase!

Chronic Absenteeism: Our current chronic absenteeism percentage is 26.2%, down from 34.7% last year. That’s an 8.5% decrease!

These numbers reflect the impact of hard work the HHS teachers, staff, and administrators have invested over the past 2 1⁄2 years. Their commitment has driven successes, from implementing the new electronic devices policy and adding hall monitors to rolling out the E-Hall Pass system and new attendance policy this year.
