Who is Eligible?
School-age children who qualify for free or reduced-price meals will get $120 each to buy groceries this summer.
This includes:
- Children who are homeless, in foster care, migrants, runaways, or in Head Start.
- Children who get public assistance like SNAP, ADC, FDPIR, or income-based Medicaid.
- Children with an approved application for the 2024-2025 school year.
All other families who have a household income under the 185% Federal Poverty Level will need to complete the Summer EBT application to see if their children qualify.
How can schools help?
- Encourage families to submit an application for school meals benefits.
- Remind households to ensure the school has their current address and parent/guardian information.
- Encourage families to visit Nebraska's DHHS Summer EBT website for more information.
