PBIS Teacher Recognition Form

2020 Goals

1. We would like teachers to hand out more positive PRIDE tickets than the number of referrals that are written.
2. We are working to decrease the number of missing assignments over the course of the year.
3. Less than 5% of our student population will require Tier III interventions by the end of the year.

This Positive Behavior Interventions and Support System (PBiS) is designed to facilitate high standards of behavior so that the learning and teaching in our school can be effective and students can participate positively within our school community.

PBiS Recognition

Teachers recognize students who are meeting expectations by handing out PRIDE tickets.  We then have a weekly drawing where 9 students get to scratch off a ticket to reveal a prize!

School-Wide Information System

Hastings High School uses the School-Wide Information System (SWIS) to collect information about office discipline referrals and to evaluate the PBiS plan. SWIS is a web-based system that allows the school to collect accurate and timely information about discipline events. The system then summarizes the information in tables and graphs that are used to guide decision-making in order to prevent and reduce the number of problem behaviors occurring in the school. Information generated in the reports can include, but is not limited to, average referrals per month, types of problem behaviors occurring, locations of the referrals, time of day of the problem behaviors, and the administrative decision resulting from the referral.
