More information about registration: Registration Includes: For your convenience, we have bundled program registration with the entry for the GOTR 5K, so there is only one registration process and fee this season. Near the end of registration, you will designate someone over 18+ to accompany your GOTR Girl on the 5K course. Not sure who will run with your girl? List a parent/guardian/trusted adult for now; you can change the Run Buddy later. NOTE: If you have more than one girl on the team, you may list a different adult for each girl. If you list the same adult, you will receive only one Run Buddy bib that is transferable.

Registration Fees Vary By Site: The base registration fee is $150, but fees vary by site and depend on community support, grants, and local donations to underwrite program costs. Title 1 sites receive a reduced rate. Girls on the Run registration includes: Program T-shirt for girl during season, Entry into GOTR 5K for girl with personalized bib, cinch-sack, medal, fandana and other giveaways at the 5K, One Run Buddy 5K entry (no swag)

Program keepsake for girl during season: curriculum workbook for girl, sixteen 75-minute meetings (20 hours!) of curriculum-based programming led by screened/trained coaches, and *NO UNREGISTERED RUNNERS ARE ALLOWED ON THE COURSE.

March 1: Late fee enacted
Feb. 27 to March 5: Season begins

Financial Aid: To request a reduced tuition fee, please complete the Financial Aid Application. You'll need to provide proof of income or free/reduced lunch participation. Applications without documentation won't be considered. Financial aid is limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis or until funding runs out. The deadline to request financial aid for the spring season is Feb. 21. NOTE: Full financial aid (i.e., 100 percent of the tuition cost) is rarely awarded. Nearly all participants pay 50 to 80 percent of the fee at their site.

All sites contingent on volunteer coaches: We still need coaches at several sites. Get involved to find out why "Girls on the Run is so much fun!" Coaches get great perks, including a guaranteed spot on the team for their daughter(s), a T-shirt, a coach appreciation gift, and the joy of building confidence and character in young girls.

You don't have to be a runner to be a great GOTR coach. Coaches must be able to coach two days per week (usually Tuesday and Thursday between 3 and 5 p.m., but some other schedules are available) during the season.

Team Capacity Teams are subject to minimum/maximum enrollments and coach availability. Coach/participant ratios are in effect to ensure safety and quality program delivery. Teams are often capped due to the number of volunteer coaches and space available at the facility.

Sites are listed as city, followed by the school/site name. Your daughter will be registered for the team you select; registering for one site and attending GOTR at another location isn't permitted. If you register for the wrong site, a $35 cancellation fee will be assessed. Double-check your registration to ensure you've selected the correct team. If your desired site is closed, don't register for another team unless you plan to attend GOTR at that location. Sites marked with * are open ONLY to girls who attend that school.

Exciting Opportunity: Join Us as a Coach for Girls on the Run at Longfellow this spring!

We’re thrilled to announce that Girls on the Run is returning to Longfellow this spring, and we’re looking for 2 to 4 enthusiastic volunteers to join us as coaches. If you have a positive mindset and a can-do spirit, you’ll be a perfect fit to lead our team through a fantastic season filled with friendship and 5K fun!

Don’t worry if you’re not a runner—you don’t need to be one to make a great impact as a GOTR coach! What matters most is your positive attitude and desire to empower young girls as they learn to put their best foot forward through our transformational social-emotional learning program.

Girls on the Run is a unique after-school adventure that blends exercise, education, and mentoring to boost self-esteem, set goals, and encourage healthy living among 3rd to 5th graders. Our teams come together for engaging sessions twice a week (75 minutes each) over 8 to 10 weeks, featuring fun running games and training for an exciting 5K walk/run at the end of the season (scheduled for the last weekend in April). Each meeting fosters physical activity and weaves valuable lessons on goal-setting, health, communication, and teamwork—all within a supportive, noncompetitive environment.

For first-time coaches, the total time commitment is about 30 hours over the 16 weeks, which includes:

--3 hours of online training modules

--One pre-season in-person meeting (dates/locations vary in February/early March)

--16 team meetings from March 1 to May 5

--CPR/First Aid certification, if required (only one coach per site needs to be certified)
