PBIS
This Positive Behavior Interventions and Support System (PBiS) is designed to facilitate high standards of behavior so that the learning and teaching in our school can be effective and students can participate positively within our school community.
What does it look like at HHS?
At Hastings Senior High School, PBIS expectations are known as Tiger PRIDE. These guidelines are introduced and used by everyone at HHS to help all students function successfully. Posters are displayed around the building, and the different areas around the building have specific PRIDE expectations. P stands for purposeful in procedures. R stands for respectful and responsible. I means involved. D is determined to be safe. E stands for excellence. Students participate in weekly Tiger Tuesday mini lessons that help to reinforce PBIS expectations. In addition, Tiger Tidbits are posted around the school to remind students of important events so that they can be informed and involved.
PBiS Recognition
Teachers and staff members recognize students who are meeting expectations by handing out PRIDE tickets. Students deliver their tickets to the office where 10 tickets are drawn weekly. These students get to spin the prize wheel to determine their reward.
