  • Pamela L. (Fluckey) Codr,  a 1977 Hastings High graduate passed away on December 31, 2022. She was employed as a dog groomer at the Prairie View Animal Hospital in Wahoo NE.
  • Glendoris (Lindeman) Kissell,  a 1944 Hastings High graduate passed away on January 16, 2023. She worked at JCPenneys and Hastings Regional Center.
  • Dorothy G. (Grace) Friend,  a 1956 Hastings High graduate passed away on January 17, 2023.  She worked at Gunter Air Force Base and then bought Grace’s Bike and Key from her father, then operated Grace’s Locksmith Service, Medeco Security Lock Company in Virginia  and Locksoft. 
  • LaVona B. (Valentine) Murphy, a 1945 Hastings High graduate passed away on December 30, 2022. She worked for Children’s Adolescent Clinic and Dr. Tom Tonniges for over 20 years as a receptionist.
  • Michael D. Hahne, a 1985 Hastings High graduate passed away on December 20, 2022.  He worked for T-L Irrigation and Eaton Corporation.
  • Betty J (Scholtz) Stamer, a 1946 Hastings High graduate passed away on December 11, 2022.  She taught vocal music for 28 years at Glenvil Public Schools. 
  • Betty L (Silk) Marr, a 1956 Hastings High graduate passed away on December 15, 2022.  She worked on the farm and the United States Postal Service.
  • Allen R. Vorderstrasse, a 1959 Hastings High graduate passed away on December 16, 2022. He served in the United States Army and was a bricklayer for 50 years
  • Richard L. Rickard, a 1968 Hastings High graduate passed away on December 1, 2022.  He served in the United State Navy and worked in many states in his profession of architecture.
  • Fredrick Wayne Huntley, a 1962 Hastings High graduate passed away on November 29, 2022.  He was the founder and sponsor of the CCC drag racing team, co-founder of the CCC Ram Athletic Booster Club and served as interim department chair and assistant men’s basketball coach.
  • Steven W. Carl, a 1963 Hastings High graduate passed away on November 29, 2022.  He was a machinist/tool and die for Hastings Irrigation Pipe.  
  • Donrue (Turner) Ingram, a 1967 Hastings High graduate passed away on November 13, 2022.  She worked for Mode O Day, Metz Bakery and Crystal Creek and managed the Harley Davidson Resort in Daytona Beach, Florida.
  • John D. DeRosear, a 1993 Hastings High graduate passed away on November 24, 2022.  He made his career working in the food service industry.
  • Bill J. Ries, a 1948 Hastings High graduate passed away on November 25, 2022.    He served in the United States Army and later opened Cut-Rite Millwork and Mr. Bills Hardware City

  • Neva (Schnase) Semotan, a 1945 Hastings High graduate passed away on November 5, 2022.  She was the Volunteer Coordinator at Good Samaritan Society Village in Hastings, Nebraska.
  • Kyle Alloway, a 2006 Hastings High graduate passed away on November 7, 2022.  He worked for Mosaic and Goodwill and was a mentor and shared living provider.
  • Cara L. (Kerr) Tagg, a 1975 Hastings High graduate passed away on November 2, 2022.  She was an audiology specialist for four decades.
  • Zaron A. Starr-Chavira, a 2015 Hastings High graduate passed away on November 26, 2022.
  • Victor Spady, a 1956 Hastings High graduate passed away on November 9, 2022. He served in the United States Navy serving on the USS Valley Forge.  He owned and operated Vic Spady Motors for many years.
  • Sheila (Bartley) Keeler, a 1966 Hastings High graduate passed away on November 18, 2022.  She taught at the Niobrara Public Schools for 37 years.
  • Karen L. (Sassman) Kraft, a 1970 Hastings High graduate passed away on November 18, 2022.   She owned and operated Pet World in Hastings for many years.
  • Todd J Van Skiver, a 1987 Hastings High graduate passed away on November 26, 2022.  He worked in real estate investment and property management. 
  • Ruth E. (Theesen) Perry, a 1952 Hastings High graduate passed away on November 1, 2022.  She worked for Brook’s and Rutt’s Pharmacy in Hastings, at Morton Elementary and was the lunch lady at St. Michael’s Catholic School.

Marian, a 1942 Hastings High graduate passed away on October 29, 2022.  He served in the United States Army Air Force and Air Force Reserves.  He was a principal and superintendent in Petersburg and Oshkosh Nebraska and then as  a teacher  with Hastings Public Schools for 20 years before retiring.  
  • Phyllis J. (Fishell) Waltemath, a 1962 Hastings High graduate passed away on October 31, 2022.  She worked in retail at Big G, as a receptionist at Nelson Electric and then as a transcriptionist and clerk at Mary Lanning Hospital.
  • Ruth M . (Merkel) Janssen, a 1946 Hastings High graduate passed away on October 21, 2022.  She was a nurse at Mary Lanning Hospital for 32 years and then worked out at Good Samaritan Village and Perkins Pavilion.  
  • Kim M. Niederhaus, a 1974 Hastings High graduate passed away on October 22, 2022.  He was in the United States Army for 17 years specializing in AME-8345-F14 System Organizational Maintenance Technician.
  • Daren Aldrich, a1991 Hastings High graduate, passed away October 22, 2022. He was self-employed and loved being with his family.
  • Robert L. Johnson, a1945 Hastings High graduate, passed away October 22, 2022.  He served in the United States Army and farmed.  
  • Barbara Ann (Yost) Gray, a1960 Hastings High graduate passed away October 22, 2022.  She worked with Anritsu and National Corporation Research.
  • Harold E. Dwyer, a 1942 Hastings High graduate passed away October 20, 2022. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps and earned his wings in the United States Army Air Forces serving in World War II.

Fiddler, a 1989 Hastings High graduate passed away on October 17, 2022.  He was an instrumental music teacher in Davenport, David City and North Platte.  He served as director of the Seward City Band, assistant director of North Platte Municipal Band, assistant and guest symphony director of the Sandhills Symphony and the director of Shriver’s Maverick Band. 
  • Helen L (Brotherton) Vollweiler,  a1944 Hastings High graduate passed away in October 2022.  She owned and operated Bak-Vol Starter and Generator for 39 years along with her husband Sonny.  
  • Keith J. Dreher, a 1959 Hastings High graduate passed away on October 4, 2022.  He was in the United States Navy, was a Quarter Master with the VFW and worked at the U.S. Postal Service until retirement.
  • Jane R (Dickerson) Esch, a1956 Hastings High graduate passed away on October 7, 2022.  She worked as a care aide and was a member of the Hastings bowling league.  
  • Ted Daub Jr., a 1954 Hastings High graduate, passed away October 1, 2022. Ted taught in the Department of Astronomy at San Diego State University between 1967-2004. He served as department chair between 1984-1988 and was associate chair from 1988-2000.
  • Judith (Stinnette) Reiners, a 1960 Hastings High graduate passed away on September 28, 2022. She was a pet veterinarian assistant and bookkeeper for 22 years with Family Pet Health Center.
  • Duane  W. White, a 1955 Hastings High graduate passed away on September 21, 2022.  He was in the United States Marine Corp and was a journeyman electrician.  
  • Dorla M (Reiber) Bucknell, a 1948 Hastings High graduate passed away on September 18, 2022. She was a member of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.  
  • Evelyn A (Dieken) Karr Theisen, a 1950 Hastings High graduate passed away on September 29, 2022. She worked for Schweser’s, Sears and Kenesaw Public Schools.
  • Debra L. (Slote) Ritterbush, a 1971 Hastings High graduate passed away on September 12, 2022. She worked for various medical offices and Walgreens Pharmacy and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.
  • Erma A (Urmacher) Parks, a 1948 Hastings High graduate passed away on September 10, 2022.  She was employed at Woolworths, Mode O’Day, Montgomery Wards and Dutton Lainson.
  • Michael Craig Maggart Sr., a 1970 Hastings High graduate passed away on September 7, 2022.  He retired from Farris Construction as a project superintendent. 
  • Shirley Ann (Woodworth) Spencer, a 1950 Hastings High graduate passed away on September 1, 2022. She was the church secretary at the First Christian Church and worked in the microfilm department at ESU9.
  • Karen A. (Bohlen) Bauman, a 1964 Hastings High graduate passed away on August 27, 2022.  She owned and operated Bauman’s Country Corner in Fairfield along with her husband Dale and then worked as a meat taster at the USDA Meat Animal Research Center.  
  • R. Terry Hunter,  a 1958 Hastings High graduate passed away on August 24, 2022.  Terry worked at Hastings State Bank, Snell Publishing and was the director of the Hastings Museum and Imax Theatre.
  • Duane A. Hurst, a 1958 Hastings High graduate passed away on August 18, 2022.  He served in the United States Army Reserves and owned and operated Harry’s Conoco Service Station.
  • Rhonda S. (Melvin) Hoselton, a 1979 Hastings High graduate passed away on August 15, 2022. She opened a licensed daycare and took in foster children. She lived in Alaska, North Platte, St. Paul and Hastings.
  • Glenda Rae (McManigal) Pauley, a 1947 Hastings High graduate passed away on June 11, 2022.  She was inducted into the Pro Rege Society, active member of First United Methodist Church and the DA Chapter of PEO.  
  • Richard Pease, a 1966 Hastings High graduate passed away on June 14, 2022. He served in the United States Navy.
  • Colette (Lupkes) Henthorn, a 1985 Hastings High graduate passed away on August 1, 2022.  She served in the United States Air Force.  
  • Steven C. Kleiber, a 1979 Hastings High graduate passed away on August 6, 2022. He worked for many airlines and then became a proficient computer technician in airline services.
  • Patricia A (Walker) Jacoby, a 1968 Hastings High graduate passed away on August 5, 2022.  She worked for Head Start for many years and served on the Preschool Interagency Council for ESU 9 in South Central Nebraska.  
  • Nikolas A Svoboda, a 2002 Hastings High graduate passed away on July 25, 2022.  He worked for Taco Bell for 20 years and then CPI Premier in Hastings.
  • N. Bryant Andrews Jr., a 1964 Hastings High graduate passed away on July 23, 2022.  He attended the University of Nebraska - Lincoln.
  • George N. Spencer,  a 1940 Hastings High graduate passed away on July 20, 2022.  Her served in the United State Air Force and was a prisoner of war in Germany for two months.  He owned Midwest Engine Services and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
  • Beverly J. (Hoffman) Barth, a 1950 Hastings High graduate passed away on July 18 , 2022.  She worked as a secretary at Lincoln Elementary School for 21 years.  
  • Thomas R. Rainforth, a 1958 Hastings High graduate passed away on July 14, 2022.  He served in the United States Army Reserves and was a carpenter owning Rainforth Construction for 30 years.  He then partnered with his son Mark in Fairview Landscape, Lighting and Design.  
  • Allen K. Hoylman, a 1955 Hastings High graduate passed away on July 13, 2022.   He served in the United States National Guard, repaired instruments for Hastings Piano Company and then worked for Whiten’s Lawn Care and Hastings Utilities.
  • D’Maris (Scheideman) Brooks, a 1955 Hastings High graduate passed away on July 10, 2022.  She was an LPN at Mary Lanning Hospital working for 40 years in the Pediatric Unit.
  • Elizabeth A. (Beyke) Girmus, a 1953 Hastings High graduate passed away on July 5, 2022.  She was a homemaker and member of the Inland Club, St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Altar Society in Sutton Nebraska.
  • Phyllis M. (Volk) Freeburger, a 1947 Hastings High graduate passed away on July 7, 2022.  She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening and golfing.
  • Jeremiah P. Farrell, a 1955 Hastings High graduate passed away.  He was a professor emeritus at Butler University from 1966 till retirement in 1994.
  • Loren R. Campbell,  a 1952 Hastings High graduate passed away on June 16, 2022.  He worked for Spady’s, Central Radio Supply - Hastings and then McCook, owned L & M electronics and moved back to Hastings in 1980 and worked for Thermo King until retirement in 1999.
  • Norma E (Swift) Fielder, a Hastings High graduate passed away on June 9, 2022. She worked in a few food factories in Hastings as well as the food department at the Hastings Regional Center.
  • John P Langdon, a 1973 Hastings High graduate passed away on June 4, 2022. He worked for Built Rite and Carmichael Construction and retired after 28 years at Hastings Street Department.
  • Robert E. Hansen, a 1955 Hastings High graduate passed away on May 26, 2022.  He had a long successful career with the United States Department of Labor.  
  • Rose M (Hill) Peister, a 1948 Hastings High graduate passed away on May 31, 2022.  She went on a traveling ministry for 12 ½ years until moving back to Hastings. 
  • Thelma (Ricker) Graham, a Hastings High graduate passed away on May 2, 2022.  She worked as a clerk at J.M. McDonalds/Herbergers and was Sunday School superintendent and Bible School Principal at First Christian Church.  
  • Robert Curtis, a 1968 Hastings High graduate passed away on April 18, 2022.  He served in the United States Marines and worked for Ryan Electronics and Teledyne Reynolds as well as taught and coached football at a California school.
  • Douglas L. Warrings, a 1963 Hastings High graduate passed away on May 5, 2022.  He was employed by the Iowa Department of Transportation Bridge Design Department in Ames, Iowa until retirement in 2000.
  • Barbara (Spady) Buchholz, a 1949 Hastings High graduate passed away on May 22, 2022.  She was a bookkeeper for a local dairy until moving to Ayr to farm.
  • Brian E. Bottolfson, a 1979 Hastings High graduate passed away on May 1, 2022. Brian was employed as a welder at Thermo King and was a member of the First Saint Paul Lutheran Church.  
  • Steven Erickson, a 1980 Hastings High graduate passed away on April 30, 2022.  He worked for Powell Tower Maintenance,  drove for Becker Trucking and then Dial Heating & Air Conditioning for 30 years. 
  • Marilyn I. (Heinrichs) Denkert, a 1957 Hastings High graduate passed away. She worked as a teacher and was a part-owner and bookkeeper for Kenesaw Motor Company.
  • Ronald D. Erickson, a 1978 Hastings High graduate passed away on April 13, 2022.  He worked several jobs throughout his life, most recently at the Hastings Public Schools as Transportation Coordinator.  
  • Daisy J. (Thomas) Patterson,a 1939 Hastings High graduate passed away on April 11, 2022.  She was a past President of the Nebraska World Organization of China Painters, a charter member of Hastings China Bells, and a member of the Faith Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. 
  • Paul R. Grothen, a 1947 Hastings High graduate passed away on April 3, 2022.  He served in the United States Army, was a farmer and an active member of the Hastings Rural Volunteer Fire Department.  
  • Ronald B. Patterson, a 1959 Hastings High graduate passed away on March 23, 2022.  He worked for 37 years as a chemist for Lorillard Tobacco company in North Carolina until his retirement.
  • Cindy L. (Thaut) Paczkowski, a 1972 Hastings High graduate passed away on March 24, 2022.  She was a bookkeeper for 39 years for ESU 9.  
  • R. Joe Howat, a 1968 Hastings High graduate passed away on March 27, 2022.  He served in the United States Army Reserves and owned and operated a Valentino’s Restaurant in St. Joseph for 14 years.Diane (Longwith) Crawford, a 1975 Hastings High graduate passed away on March 29, 2022.  She worked as a general laborer with a box manufacturer.
  • Robert J. Soares, a 1964 Hastings High graduate passed away on March 21, 2022.  He served in the United States Marine Corps and  he was a plumber for multiple companies as well as our very own Hastings Public Schools.
  • Robert L. Brommer, a 1957 Hastings High graduate passed away on March 18, 2022.  He served in the Army National Guard and worked as a draftsman, taught at CCC in Hastings and sold chemicals before forming a financial services company, Robert L Brommer and Associates
  • Debra A. (Dycus) Bruntz, a 1979 Hastings High graduate passed away on March 11, 2022.  She was a homemaker and managed and maintained rental properties.  
  • Vernon D. Cook Sr., a 1948 Hastings High graduate passed away on March 14, 2022.   He served in the United States Army and was a Nebraska farmer.
  • Sheryln L. (Meerkatz) Podewitz, a 1967 Hastings High graduate passed away on March 14, 2022.  She was an accountant and bookkeeper for CPI in Hastings.
  • John E. Borrell, a Hastings High graduate passed away on March 17, 2022.  He worked for Hastings Industries for many years before retiring.
  • Robert P. Fast, a 1950 Hastings High graduate passed away on March 19, 2022.  He served in the United States Navy and then was part owner of Fast Construction and then worked for Geist Masonry in Grand Island till retirement.  
  • Gary A. Smith, a 1966 Hastings High graduate passed away on March 14, 2022.  He served in the United States Army and then worked for Children’s Social Services in Nebraska and as an auditor for the IRS in Arizona.
  • Jeneane (Krull) Johnson, a 1966 Hastings High graduate passed away on February 28, 2022.   She worked as a bookkeeper for Hastings Motor Truck and then for Kully Pipe and Steel until retirement.
  • Vernon L. Plambeck, a 1953 Hastings High graduate passed away on February 26, 2022.  He taught in the English Department at University of Nebraska-Keraney until retirement in 2000.  He also officiated high school sports for 52 years.
  • Dale E. Bierman, a 1950 Hastings High graduate passed away on February 28, 2022.  He served in the United States Army, was a letter carrier for the Post Office and then farmed.  
  • Carolyn A. (Kohlmeier) Thompson, a 1960 Hastings High graduate passed away on February 20, 2022.  She worked at Dillard's as a clerk and a buyer.
  • Thomas R. Dobesh, a 1958 Hastings High graduate passed away on February 17, 2022.  He served in the United States Army Reserves and worked for Hastings Industries until retirement.
  • Chuck A. Janssen, a 1986 Hastings High graduate passed away on February 26, 2022.  He managed Janssen Auto Body and later Chuck’s Auto Detailing and was a bartender at the Plainsman Steakhouse.
  • Randy L. Dack, a 1980 Hastings High graduate passed away on February 26, 2022.   He worked for nearly 25 years as the master blacksmith at the Stuhr Museum in Grand Island
  • William Hall, a 1943 Hastings High graduate passed away on February 1, 2022.  He worked as a custodian at the Hastings Regional Center and was a member of the Salvation Army.
  • Denise K. (Kelly) Janssen, a 1971 Hastings High graduate passed away on February 4, 2022.  She was a cosmetologist for many years.  
  • Connie (Miller) Kubicka, a 1960 Hastings High graduate passed away on January 22, 2022.  She worked for Longfellow Elementary, First Presbyterian Church and Central Community College until retirement.
  • Neil D. Sanders, a 1949 Hastings High graduate passed away on January 15, 2022.  He served in the United States Air Force for 35 years, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel.  After retiring from the service he worked as a counselor with Bridgeway.   
  • Lois A. (Erickson) Wiens, a 1964 Hastings High graduate passed away on January 24, 2022.  She taught 19 years at Glenwood Elementary in Kearney, Nebraska retiring in 2008.  
  • Betty Louis (DeMoulin) Heuermann, a 1958 Hastings High graduate passed away on January 25, 2022.  She worked as a bookkeeper in the Agronomy Department at the University of Nebraska College of Agriculture
  • Marsha M. (Troudt) Elliott, a 1965 Hastings High graduate passed away on January 21, 2022.  She worked at Head Start until retirement in 2012.  
  • Steven E Debacker, a 1990 Hastings High graduate passed away on January 21, 2022.  He attended Good-Will Industries, was active in the Special Olympics, Hastings Kiwanis Aktion Club and St Cecilia’s Special CCD

  • Ruth (Leonhardt) Barfknecht, a 1947 Hastings High graduate passed away on January 9, 2022.  She worked for the City of Hastings, City Clerk, Hastings Utilities and Hastings Public Schools.  

  • Wayne B Weber II, a 1963 Hastings High graduate passed away on January 11, 2022.  He worked for State Federal Savings and Loan - American Charter Savings and Loan, and opened franchises of Eileen's Cookies in Lincoln.  Retiring in 2007.  

  • Glenn G. Hunnicutt, a 1943 Hastings High graduate passed away on January 13, 2022.  He served in the United States Army, worked as an electrician at his business Service Electric until retirement.

  • James E. Stutesman, a 1961 Hastings High graduate passed away on January 11, 2022.  He served in the Army National Guard and the United States Army and was employed as a deputy sheriff in Adams County until retirement

  • Julia A. (Rippen) Schutte, a Hastings High graduate passed away on January 1, 2022.  She was a farm wife and made ammunition at the Naval Ammunition Depot.

  • Phyllis M. (McWhirter) Marian, a 1946 Hastings High graduate passed away on January 2, 2022.  She worked for the Kansas Nebraska Gas Company and then was an assistant librarian at the Lincoln Elementary school for 24 years.

  • Helen J. (Nauenburg) Valentine, a 1948 Hastings High graduate passed away on January 4, 2022. She was a homemaker, sold Avon, worked part-time for Union Elevator and at The Regency as a meal preparer.
