Board of Education Meeting – June 2026
Professional Learning Celebrations
This summer, HPS staff are participating in a variety of high-quality professional learning opportunities, including:
- The Blueprint for High-Quality ELA Instruction: Instructional Practice Guide (IPG) Training attended by all principals and instructional facilitators.
- Universal Design for Learning (UDL) training with internationally recognized speaker Dr. Katy Novak attended by 10 teachers.
- Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) for Reading training attended by 6 teachers.
- UFLI Literacy Training, focused on strengthening Tier I and Tier II literacy instruction, attended by 5 teachers.
- NeMTSS Foundational Restorative Practices Training, a three-day training attended by 14 HPS elementary educators and our director.
In addition to these district-supported learning opportunities, many staff members are also taking graduate coursework and college classes throughout the summer to further enhance their skills and knowledge.
We also have staff serving students through our summer school programs, providing continued academic support and learning opportunities for students who need them.
These efforts demonstrate the dedication of our staff to continuous growth and their commitment to providing the highest quality educational experience for the students of Hastings Public Schools.
